When you crave a warm noodle soup in koreatown, this might be the place you are looking for. Kalguksu means hand-cut noodles in Korean and Hangri means a pot that is made of ceramic. You can get the deepest broth taste with the very chewy texture of hand-cut noodles. Also, they have "Bossam" which means boiled pork, and it comes with a variety of vegetables. It’s one of their best dishes. Besides, they offer various authentic Korean food.

First, their complimentary side dishes are quite interesting. They serve Boribap(steamed barley) with a couple of kimchi. You’re supposed to mix with these and eat as Bibibap. Boribap is one of my mom’s favorite dishes. It’s nutritionally well balanced, and healthy food.

Handmade Noodle : Kalguksu. You can get Sujebi(which is hand torn dough flakes), or Hand-cut noodles. There are different broth options as well. Plain broth is Anchovy, and there are Clam base, Chicken base, Kimchi, and Seafood. Our choice was Chicken Kalguksu, it comes with Half Chicken, Zucchini, Kabocha, Potato, Drid date & onion. The broth is very thick because of starch from wheat. How to eat properly and deliciously? Try a bite of noodles with a slice of Kimchi. This can be served for 3-4 people.

Bossam : Boiled pork with a variety of vegetables and kimchis. As It’s boiled in water for a long time, the texture of meat is very soft and Juicy. It doesn’t taste as heavy as it could be. The best part of boiled pork is that there is fat and meat at the same time in one bite, the texture is quite amazing especially when you eat spicy radish and white cabbage kimchi that give you a fresh and sour taste. This is one of the dishes that you share with a big group. This always reminds me of Fridays at my parents house and we delivered the food and sat around the table for dinner while growing up in Korea.

Kalguksu is specifically for rainy cold days cravings in Korea. If you are looking for warm home food, this could be your dinner and to-go the bossam and share with your loved ones. Highly recommend this place if you’d like to get authentic Korean food.
